CREATIVE ARTS

The Creative Arts at Hanwood Public School includes dance, drama, music and visual arts

The art forms offer students opportunities for creative action, aesthetic pleasure and emotional response in the expression of personal and cultural values and beliefs. Students learn to communicate ideas through understanding and using the conventions of the symbol systems or language of each art form.

The students at Hanwood are given many experiences to enrich their understanding of the arts.

All students are given the opportunity to be involved in KROP, which stands for Kids Rapped On Performing.  They join numerous schools from the Griffith District to perform a whole school item for a large audience.  Click here to find out about KROP 2007.

The students also have the opportunity to perform at our infant and primary assemblies, which are held every fortnight for infants and every 3 weeks for primary.

The students are also able to experience visiting cultural performances throughout the year.

The syllabus and other supporting material for Creative Arts K-6 is available from the Board of Studies.
